Three Kidslabel backpacks side by side

The collection includes three backpack families with a recommended age of 3 years: Teddy, Teddy Bear and Corduroy Small. The Teddy measures 31 × 25 × 9 cm and is made of 100% polyester with a teddy finish. The Teddy Bear measures 29 × 24 × 10 cm and, according to its specifications, is made of 100% recycled polyester, also with a teddy finish. The Corduroy Small measures 29 × 22.5 × 10 cm and is 100% polyester with a ribbed corduroy look. On paper the sizes are close; the biggest differences lie in surface and care.

All three models share the same listed features: a zipped front pocket, a dedicated cup pocket, one slip pocket, adjustable shoulder straps and an inside name label. That means you do not first need to work out which bag has more pockets. You can focus on which look and which way of caring for the bag suit your family. Keep in mind that the dimensions are outside measurements. Internal pocket sizes and a capacity in litres are not provided, so compare the photographs and your own belongings as well.

Teddy or corduroy: the difference in look

Teddy and corduroy describe the appearance of the fabric here, not a different fibre. Teddy has a fluffy, soft-looking surface; corduroy has visible ribs. Both are polyester on these models. The distinction matters, because a fabric name can suggest cotton or wool while the product information says otherwise. Look at the detail photographs on the product pages to see the surface up close. Lighting and screen settings can change how colour and texture appear, so read the description too.

Which look is nicest is a personal choice. Some parents choose teddy because it suits a soft toy or a winter coat; others prefer the calm lines of corduroy. There is no right or wrong answer. We also make no claims about which fabric lasts longer, feels warmer or copes better with rain: those properties are not recorded in the specifications. You might ask your child to look along with you. A bag they recognise and enjoy wearing often feels like their own straight away.

Teddy or corduroy backpack: which suits your child?

Teddy and Teddy Bear are two different models

The names are similar, but Teddy and Teddy Bear are separate backpacks. The Teddy is slightly wider and flatter at 31 × 25 × 9 cm. The Teddy Bear measures 29 × 24 × 10 cm. The material listing differs as well: the Teddy Bear states recycled polyester, the Teddy polyester without that addition. A recycled-material statement does not by itself indicate certification or a calculated environmental benefit, so we do not turn it into a broader sustainability promise.

The Teddy comes in Beige and Forest Green, as well as versions such as Daisy Brown and Lovely Beige. The Teddy Bear comes in Beige and Clay. When in doubt, always check the full product name and its page, so that you compare the right variant. A photograph of another colour can give a slightly different impression, and even with similar models the individual product details remain the reference. This prevents you from attributing one model’s size or material to another.

Care: washing temperature and hand wash

This is the most practical difference. For the Teddy and the Teddy Bear, the care instruction is washing at a maximum of 30 °C. The Corduroy Small is hand wash only and must not be tumble dried. If the backpack goes to nursery every day and you expect to clean it more often, that is a concrete point to weigh up. A maximum of 30 °C is an upper limit rather than a complete washing cycle, so read the label for further directions.

Always empty every pocket before cleaning and let the bag dry fully before packing it again. Do not borrow tumble-drying or ironing advice from another product; the corduroy version explicitly must not go in the dryer. Kidslabel items do not all share the same care requirements, not even within the backpacks. If you are unsure about an instruction that is not on the product page, check the label or ask us before washing.

Making the choice for your child

Start with what really needs to come along: a cup, a spare set of clothes, a small familiar item. Measure the outside of the largest things and compare them with the dimensions of the three models. Then decide on two questions: which look do you and your child like, and does washing at up to 30 °C or hand washing suit your routine better? The recommended age of 3 years is a starting point, not a guarantee of fit. Adjust the straps with the filled bag on your child’s back.

If your child is older or needs to carry more, read our comparison of Corduroy Small and Large; the Large has a recommended age of 6 years. You can order via the button on every product page, which takes you to kraam-cadeau.nl/kidslabel. Check current availability and any name options there. Kidslabel’s own personalisation design tool is not available yet. If you have a question about a model, please contact us.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Teddy and Teddy Bear backpacks?

They are two separate models. The Teddy measures 31 × 25 × 9 cm and is 100% polyester with a teddy finish. The Teddy Bear measures 29 × 24 × 10 cm and is 100% recycled polyester with a teddy finish. The listed pockets and the recommended age of 3 years are the same.

What care instructions do these backpacks have?

The Teddy and Teddy Bear specify washing at a maximum of 30 °C. The Corduroy Small is hand wash only and must not be tumble dried. Always read your backpack’s label for further directions before cleaning it.

Is corduroy made of cotton?

Not for these backpacks. Corduroy describes the ribbed appearance here; the stated composition of the Corduroy Small is 100% polyester. Teddy likewise refers to the surface rather than a separate fibre.

Will my child’s lunchbox or cup fit?

We cannot guarantee that. The stated dimensions are outside measurements, and no internal sizes or capacity in litres are listed. Compare your own items with the dimensions and photographs, and contact us if the fit is decisive.

Can I order a backpack with a name?

Orders are placed via kraam-cadeau.nl/kidslabel, reachable through the button on each product page. Check there which name options are offered. Kidslabel’s own design tool is not available yet.
